Eric Idowu, an undergraduate of the University of Lagos, who allegedly bought phones worth N1million with fake bank alert has been declared wanted by SARS Officials.
According to reports, Eric bought the phones from one Azeez Bakare, a member of the NYSC who runs a mobile phone business. Narrating his ordeal, Azeez reportedly received a call from someone who identified himself as Leonard Adeleke. He placed orders on 3 Used iphone 8 Plus and one brand new iPhone X, he dropped his address for delivery.
According to Azeez, he went to make the delivery that same day at the said address. On getting there, he saw the person who placed the order and delivered the phones, after a quick check on the products, he collected Azeez account number and after sometime showed him the debit alert. But Azeez was yet to receive the alert, so they both waited. After a while, the client excused himself to go put on the generator and that was how he absconded. He was no where to be found.
Azeez tried his number but it was switched off. It was later discovered with the help of True Caller App that Eric Idowu used a fake name “Leonard Adegoke” while placing his order instead of “Eric Idowu” which is his actual name with his picture displayed by the app.
The case was then reported to the police and later transferred to Sars office.
An official of CSE Phones confirmed that Bakare is a very known person in the Company, he buys phones on credit and remits the money after sales. Azeeze is pleading with Sars operatives to help him find the culprit so he can get his money or the phones back.
