07068492504 UMYU Pre-degree And Remedial Studies Admission 2019/2020
Application for admission into the school of Predegree and Remedial Studies programme of Umaru Musa Yar’adua University, UMYU for the 2019/2020 Acadeic Session has been announced.
Three programmes will be conducted during the 2019/2020 session which include; UTME, IJMBE and English Language Immersion for candidates from French and non- English speaking Countries.
APPLICATION AND ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR UTME (i.e. PRE-DEGREE) PROGRAMME
Candidates applying for Pre-Degree Programme must possess at least five (5) Credits in Science including English and mathematics at ‘O’ level. The subjects combinations offered in the school are:
- Biology, Chemistry, Physics;
- Biology, Physics, Mathematics;
- Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics;
- Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics.
Candidates admitted for the pre-degree programme with deficiency must register and pass at credit level the WAEC, NECO or NABTEB exams in the subject(s) they are deficient.
Candidates admitted for pre-degree programme must also register for the 2019/2020 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and obtain the minimum UMYU cut off point and must choose Umaru Musa Yar’adua University as their 1st choice.
The duration of the Programme is one year.
APPLICATION AND ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR IJMBE
Candidates applying for IJMBE Programme must possess at least five (5) ‘O’ level Credits (in 3 basic Science subjects plus English and Mathematics) at not more than two (2) sittings. However, candidates from educationally less developed States (ELDS) in Nigeria, deficiency in English is considered but the deficiency, however, must be remedied before the end of the IJMBE programme.
The subjects’ combinations for IJMBE is as follows:
- Biology, Chemistry, Physics;
- Biology, Physics, Mathematics;
- Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics;
- Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics.
All IJMB candidates must also register for 2019/2020 JAMB Direct Entry admissions
The duration of the Programme is one year.
APPLICATION AND ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR ENGLISH LANGUAGE IMMERSION PROGRAMME
This is an English Language programme for French speaking and other non-English speaking countries preparatory to admission into the University
- Candidates applying for this programme must possess relevant certificate acceptable to the University.
- The duration of the programme is 6 months of 2 semesters.
