UNILAG registrar apologises to senate for being disrespectful The Registrar of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Oladejo Azeez, has apologized to the university senate for the role he played during an emergency meeting of the body on August 24, 2020.
The registrar had directed that no auditorium should be made available for members of the senate to use in convening a meeting where an acting vice-chancellor was expected to be elected for the institution as directed by the Federal Government six months ago.
In a letter addressed to all Senate members released on Monday, 22 February, the registrar maintained that he has respect for the Senate as an institution as well as the individual members in their respective capacities, and he was apologizing after realizing that his action must have offended members of the Senate.
Mr. Azeez assured the Senate that he remained loyal and committed to the Senate and management of the university.
